Bhubaneswar, Mar 8: On the auspicious day of Phalgun Krushna-pakshya Chaturdashi today, Maha Shivatri is celebrated today for Lord Shiva, one of the Three Holy Trinity of the Hindus. Long queue of devotees are seen in various Shaiva temples in Odisha.
Lingaraj Temple
The Lingaraj temple here is all decked up for the day. The pahada opened at 3:00 am and at 3:30 Mangala Alati was done after which the devotees were allowed for darshan.
The 'Sahana mela' darshan is open up to 11:00 am. The Mahadeepa will be raised atop the Lingaraj temple at 10:00 pm.
Lokanath Temple
The 'Akhanda deep' has been lightened from last night in Lokanath temple.
The security has been tigtened to avoid any stampede.

✨Baba Dhabaleswar's Pitha
In Baba Dhabaleswar's pitha four rounds of worship will be done with the Mahadeep being raised atop the temple at 1:00 am. The police administration has been stationed for a disciplined darshan.
Baba Akhandalamani's Pitha
Devotees from far off places are seen visiting Baba Akhandalamani to offer prayers to the Lord. Keeping this in view, police force has been stationed both inside the temple and the premises. The 'Sunabesa' will decked at 12:00am and Mahadeepa will be raised at 2:00 am here.
