Puri: 'Maha Snana' Of Lord Jagannath, Siblings Performed After Unfortunate Incident Inside Shreemandir Premises

Puri, Mar 22: The darshan of Lord Jagannath and his siblings were halted Saturday morning as the deities underwent Maha Snana ritual.
According to reports, after the completion of the morning rituals, the darshan of Lord Jagannath commenced. During the time, a servitor slipped near the inner sanctum and was bleeding profusely. As blood spilled on the floor at ‘Bhitara Katha’, servitors had to perform the ‘Maha Snana’ ritual.
To ensure the smooth conduction of the Maha Snana Niti, the darshan of the Lords was completely halted.
As per the temple tradition, if blood stains are found in the ‘Garbha Gruha’, ‘Bhitara Katha’ or ‘Bahara Katha’, the purification is observed and the interior of the shrine cleansed in a ritual called ‘Sodha’.
