Bhubaneswar, Dec 6: Rain continued to occur in the southern districts by the impact of Cyclone Michaung that hit the south coast two days back.
The cyclone has weakened into a depression and is likely to weaken further in the next six hours, said the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Reports said paddy plants and crops may be damaged due to the stagnation of water caused by incessant rains in the districts of Ganjam and Gajapati. In many parts, farmers had cut the paddy plants before the cyclone.

✨Meanwhile, the IMD issued yellow warning of heavy rains for the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi and Kandhamal. All eight southern districts will witness heavy rains today.
The IMD said fainfall will continue in the southern districts for the the next 24 hours.
Cold weather has prevailed in coastal areas since morning. The chilly weather will persist for a few hours.
