A well-marked low pressure area formed over Bay of Bengal has intensified into a depression on Wednesday, informed India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Bhubaneswar, Nov 15: A well-marked low pressure area formed over Bay of Bengal has intensified into a depression on Wednesday, informed India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The system is likely to move initially northwestwards, then north northwest wards and intensify into a deep depression over west central Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh coast in the morning of November 16. Thereafter, it would recurve north northeast wards and reach over northwest Bay of Bengal off Odisha coast on 17th morning & off north Odisha-West Bengal coasts on 18th November morning, IMD Bhubaneswar said.

Under its influence, many places in Odisha are likely to receive rain for next seven days, the IMD forecast in its latest bulletin.

Day 1
(Valid upto 8.30 am of November 16)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara and at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Khordha, Cuttack and Kandhamal.

Day 2
(Valid from 8.30 am of November 16 to 8.30 am of November 17)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places places over the districts of Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Ganjam, Cuttack, Khordha, Nayagarh and at a few places over the districts of Balasore, Jajpur, Gajapati, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Kandhamal, Rayagada and at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Boudh, Angul and Kalahandi.
Yellow Warning (Be updated)
Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Puri and Cuttack.

Day 3
(Valid from 8.30 am of November 17 to 8.30 am of November 18)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal and at a few places over the districts of Khurda, Puri, Angul, Nayagarh, Sundargarh, Deogarh and at one or two places over the districts of Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Boudh, Kandhamal and Ganjam.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada and Gajapati.

(Valid from 8.30 am of November 20 to 8.30 am of November 21)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam.

Day 7
(Valid from 8.30 am of November 21 to 8.30 am of November 22)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Ganjam, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Koraput and Gajapati.
