Bhubaneswar, Aug 18: According to the Regional Meteorological Centre, a low-pressure area has formed over the region, with the potential to intensify into a depression within the next 24 hours. As a result, heavy rainfall is expected across Odisha until August 20.

An orange alert has been issued for the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, and Gajapati districts, where heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over the next 24 hours.

A yellow alert has been declared for 24 districts, including Ganjam, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Nabarangpur, forecasting moderate to heavy showers.
