Malkangiri, Apr 21: In a chilling revelation, Malkangiri Police have solved the mystery surrounding the decomposed body of a young woman found in the jungle near Rengabandha village.

The investigation, led by Malkangiri Police Station’s Rigan Kindo, SI, uncovered a tragic tale of love, betrayal, and murder.

The deceased, identified as a young woman from Martunda village, had been in a year-long relationship with Umesh Nag, a 20-year-old from Chhattisgarh's Sindhiguda area.

Their relationship took a dark turn when the woman became pregnant, leading to disputes over marriage and abortion. Umesh allegedly lured her to the outskirts of Malkangiri, where he brutally killed her with stones and abandoned her body in the jungle.

The police recovered clothing and slippers from the crime scene, but the body was too decomposed for immediate identification. After thorough investigation, the police pieced together the events leading to the murder. Umesh Nag has been arrested, and further legal proceedings are underway.

This case highlights the vulnerabilities faced by women in relationships and the need for stronger measures to prevent such heinous crimes.
