Puri, June 12: After the ceremonial Snana Purnima bathing ritual with 108 pitchers of aromatic water, Lord Jagannath has developed a ritual fever, marking the beginning of the 15-day Anasara period.
During this sacred time, the Chaturdha Murtis — Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra, and Chakraraj Sudarshan — will remain away from public view inside the Shreemandir. Devotees take Darshan of Lord Alarnath during this period to avail the grace of Lord Jagannath.
The Alarnath Temple doors opened early at 4:00 AM, followed by Mangala Alati at 4:15 AM, and 'Avakasha Niti. Devotees queued up to have Darshan of Lord Alarnath this morning. Extensive arrangements and strict security have been implemented at Alarnath Temple, including deployment of eight platoons of police to manage the crowds.
