While the people of Nuapada district still apprehend an attack from a leopard at any place, the incident of a big cat killing seven goats at Manlaspur village under the Girishchandrapur forest range of Rairakhol forest division in Sambalpur district has indicated the presence of tigers in jungles across the western Odisha.
According to the information, Yogesh Lakra of Mangalpur village had taken his goats to the nearby jungle for grazing. However, he found seven goats were missing while the entire herd returned to the shed in the evening.

✨The next morning, Lakra went to the jungle and searched for the goats. To his astonishment, he saw a leopard feasting on a goat and the mutilated bodies of other six goats lying around. He later informed the forest officials.
Forest officials sent the bodies of the goats to a veterinary hospital for postmortem and started further investigation.
