Bhubaneswar, Sept 2: Erstwhile member of Mewar royal family, Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, performed a sacred Rudra Abhishek at the revered Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar.
Accompanied by his wife Nivriti Kumari, the royal couple participated in the elaborate ritual that lasted for over three hours, beginning at 6 AM following the Mangala Aarti.
The ritual involved offerings of 21 liters of milk, 11 liters of pomegranate juice, 11 liters of sugarcane juice, and 2,100 bilva leaves, among other sacred items, to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva.
The temple priests noted that the unexpected rainfall during the puja was considered an auspicious sign.
