Puri, Nov 15: Lakhs of devotees thronged Puri to have Darshan of Shreemandir deities- Lord Balabhadra, Lord Jagannath, and Devi Subhara- in Rajadhiraj Besha (Suna Besha) on the occasion of auspicious Kartika Purnima today. 

Devotees lined up to see the rare gold adoration of the Trinity since morning. The deities will be in the Rajadhiraj Besha, also known as Suna Besha' throughout today and lakhs of devotees are expected to have their Darsha today. 

As today is the last day of the holy month of Kartika, people took holy dips and floated boats on the waters of Panchatirtha, including the Mahodadhi (Sea). 

Habishyalis, who have been celebrating Kartika Brata since day one, will wind up their Brata today. 

Notably, the Shreemandir Trinity gets gold adoration (Suna Besha) five times every year. Rajadhiraj Besha is one of the five Suna Besha. Deities wear various gold ornaments in this Besha on Kartika Purnima day. 

The other Suna Besha rituals happen on Raths after Bahuda Yatra, Dassehra, Dola Purnima and Pousha Purnima Tithis.
