Lakhpati Didi Workshop Begins Across Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Mar 11: 'Lakhpati Didi' Seminars have begun in all districts in Odisha. Training is being provided to develop skills and competencies. The government has targeted to create 25 lakh lakhpati Didi in Odisha by 2027.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida has directed concerned authorities to take the programme on a mission mode. Lakhpati Didi workshops have started in all the districts from today. In this workshop, training is being imparted to the future Lakhpati Didi.
This scheme is being implemented under the Odisha Livelihood Mission in partnership with the Central Government to make women self-reliant and enhance their capabilities and skills. The women who have become Lakshpati Didi are participating in inspiring discussions and motivating others in this workshop. Around 4,000 CRP, MBK Didi participated in the program held at Kosal Kalamandala ground in Balangir.

✨There are 23,000 lakhpati didis in Balangir district. The roadmap is being prepared to make 50,000 thousand Lakhpati Didi in the district. A total of 44,900 lakhpatis in 26 blocks of Mayurbhanj district have already benefited from the Lakhpari Didi scheme. More than 4,000 lakhpati didis attended the workshop held in Rayagada. At present, there are 13,000 lakhpati didis in the district and it is being discussed to increase this number to 30,000 in the coming days.
Lakhpati Didi workshops have also been organized in Jharsuguda, Nuapada, Balasore and Kendrapara districts.
On the occasion of International Women's Day on March 8, Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with women from across the country. He emphasized on women empowerment and their contribution to the society.
