Kalahandi, May 1: A man, who worked as a labourer, was killed after being hit by an ambulance, which was responding to an emergency call. The incident occurred under Koksara police limits in Kalahandi district.

According to reports, the incident occurred when the victim, whose identity was not ascertained immediately, was on a bicycle. Meanwhile, he was hit by the emergency vehicle near Behera Chhak under Koksara police limits. As a result, the victim died on the spot.

Following the incident, family members of the victim and locals blocked the road and staged a protest demanding compensation.

Later, on being informed, police reached the spot and initiated a probe into the incident.
