Koraput, Feb 28: Odisha Vigilance continues to terrorise the corrupted officials across the state with its actions as yet another official has been arrested while taking a bribe.

The vigilance sleuths arrested Satyanarayan Challan, In Charge, Kunduli LAMPCS (Large-sized Adivasi Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd), Semliguda in Koraput while the latter was taking a bribe of Rs 3,000 from a farmer.

Informing about the development, the Odisha Vigilance wrote in its ‘X’ handle: “Challan was arrested by Odisha Vigilance while taking bribe Rs 3,000 from a farmer to procure 117 millet bags (50kg each).”

As per the information, Challan had demanded a bribe Rs 45 per bag (Rs 5,265 in total). Later, he reduced it to Rs 3,000.

However, the complainant – the farmer – approached the Vigilance and they successfully nabbed the accused while taking bribe.

In this connection, Koraput Vigilance P.S Case No. 09 Dt. 27.02.2025 U/s 7 P.C (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. “Investigation is in progress,” wrote the Odisha Vigilance.

As per the report, simultaneous searches are underway at two different places, linked to Challan, including his office.
