Bhubaneswar, May 26: In a remarkable display of faith and tradition, members of the Kinnar (transgender) community gathered under the sacred Banyan tree in Palaspalli, Bhubaneswar, to observe Sabitri Brata with devotion and reverence.

The festival, traditionally observed by married Hindu women for the well-being and longevity of their husbands, saw participation from the transgender community, who celebrated it as part of their guru-shishya tradition.

Clad in new attire, adorned with bangles and vermillion, they performed rituals with offerings of fruits and prayer items, seeking blessings not just for their gurus but for the well-being of all.
