  • ₹100 crore garment industry project to employ 1,200 trained youth.
  • ₹187 crore data centre with 5 MW power and advanced cyber security.
  • Projects mark Keonjhar’s rise as both apparel and digital hub.

Keonjhar, Feb 13: The mineral-rich district of Keonjhar is set to witness a major industrial transformation as Chief Minister Mohan CharanMajhiwill lay the foundation stone on Saturday for two landmark projects — a garment manufacturing unit and a state-of-the-art data centre.

The garment industry project, backed by an investment of ₹100 crore, will provide direct employment opportunities to 1,200 trained youth from the district. These young men and women, skilled in tailoring and garment production, will now have the chance to work with branded apparel companies.

To facilitate this, the district administration has allocated 12 acres of land, with the first phase already securing 6.61 acres at Balabhadrapur. This initiative is expected to boost local employment, empower rural youth, and position Keonjhar as a new hub for apparel manufacturing in Odisha.
