Keonjhar DFO Lands In Vigilance Net Over DA Charges

Keonjhar, Jul 20: The Odisha Vigilance Department on Sunday launched simultaneous raids at multiple locations linked to Nityananda Nayak, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Keonjhar, over allegations of possession of disproportionate assets (DA).

According to reports, three DSPs, 10 inspectors and other officials of the Vigilance Department in Keonjhar, Angul and Nayagarh districts have launched the raids on the basis of warrants issued by the Special Vigilance Judge in Keonjhar.

During house searches so far, the following assets have been unearthed in the name of Nayak and his family members includes: a four storeyed building with area approx. 9000 Sqft. at Turanga, Angul.


A total of 115 nos. of plots have been detected including 53 plots in name of Nayak, 42 plots in name of his spouse, 16 plots in name of his two sons and 4 plots in name of his daughter.

Nayak has purchased all the above plots in Chhendipada, Angul for the period from 1992 (since his entering into Govt. service as Range Officer) to 2024, while serving in different capacities such as Forest Range Officer, Asst. Conservator Forest, Dy. Conservator of Forest and Divisional Forest Officer, said reports.
