Keonjhar, Jul 3: In the wake of sustained coverage by Argus News, the authorities on Friday shifted the body of a minor labourer to the Keonjhar District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), where his post-mortem examination would be conducted after remaining pending for nearly 48 hours due to the ongoing doctors' agitation in Barbil.
The deceased was identified as Krishna.
The victim had died on Wednesday after being buried under a mound of earth during alleged illegal manganese mining inside the Malda Reserve Forest under Koida police station limits in Sundargarh district.
Body Remained In Mortuary For Two Days
Following which, his body has been lying in the morgue of Tata Hospital in Joda since Wednesday, as no autopsy could be performed on it due to the ongoing protest by doctors of the facility.
The deceased’s body was then sent to the Barbil Tata Hospital for post-mortem on Thursday. However, due to the doctors’ strike, the body was sent back to the Joda hospital.
The delay had left the bereaved family waiting for legal formalities to be completed before the last rites.
Administration Acts After Argus Report
After Argus News highlighted the plight of the family and the prolonged delay in conducting the post-mortem, the authorities intervened and shifted the body to the Keonjhar DHH.

Youth Dies After Falling From Hilltop
A tourist from Chhattisgarh died after allegedly slipping and falling around 50 feet from Dokari Hill while taking a selfie at the Dokrichanchara Waterfall -- a popular tourist destination inside the Sahajkhol Reserve Forest under Ampani police station limits in Odisha's Kalahandi district.

The deceased was identified as Lokesh Dauria, a resident of Karlaguda village in Deobhog, Chhattisgarh.
Locals of Khaligarh village alerted police about the incident on Thursday evening after spotting the body below the hill.
Police recovered a Chhattisgarh-registered motorcycle (CG-04-LS-8293) from near the tourist spot.
According to a source, Lokesh had visited the scenic waterfall as a tourist. While attempting to take a selfie near the edge of the waterfall, he reportedly lost his footing and plunged into the deep gorge, dying on the spot.
Fire Personnel Recover Body
On being informed, Fire Services personnel launched a rescue operation and recovered the body from the gorge. Ampani police later seized the body and launched an investigation into the incident.
Post-Mortem At Koksara CHC
Police said the body has been sent to the Koksara Community Health Centre for post-mortem examination. After completion of the legal formalities, the body will be handed over to the deceased's family members.
