G Udayagiri, Nov 1: In a pitiful incident, two persons died and six were critically ill after eating a dish prepared from mango stone at Mandipanka village of Gadapur gram panchayat under Daringibadi block in Kandhamal district.
According to the informaiton, the family age 'Jau' of mango stone last night and subsequently became ill. They were rushed to the Primary Health Centre at Brahmanigaon first. However, a woman succumbed to food poisoning, caused by mango-stone jau, while under treatment at the PHC.
While the rest seven were being shifted to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital, one of them, a girl, died on the way. The rest six patients are undergoing treatment at the MKCG Medical College and Hospital.
