Bhawanipatna, Jul 12: A shocking incident of brutal murder has surfaced from Musiguda village under Sadar police station, where a 75-year-old woman was allegedly killed by a local youth during the night.
The victim, identified as Janani Harijan, hailed from Talbara village under Lanjigarh block’s Lakhbahali panchayat. She had been staying in Musiguda with a relative for agricultural work.
On the night of the incident, she was allegedly attacked and killed with a sharp weapon by Sanjit Nayak, a youth from the same village.
According to family members, the motive behind the murder remains unclear. They filed a complaint with the police, prompting swift action from Sadar SDPO, local police, and a scientific team, who reached the spot and recovered the body.

The deceased was sent to Bhawanipatna District Headquarters Hospital for postmortem. Police have launched a manhunt for the accused, who is currently absconding.
