Cuttack, Apr 3: A Cuttack special POCSO court has sentenced Bablu Verma to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment for the rape of a minor girl in Niali police station jurisdiction.
The court also imposed a fine of ₹20,000, with a directive to serve an additional two months in jail if the fine remains unpaid.
Furthermore, the court has ordered compensation of ₹2 lakh to the victim.
The heinous crime occurred on July 9, 2023, when the convict, a ground mechanic, visited the victim's house and committed the offense.
