Justice Arijit Pasayat To Chair Shrimandir Ratna Bhandar Inventory Meeting Today

As per direction by the Orissa High Court, the Odisha government in February this year announced the formation of a 12-member committee, headed by Justice Arijit Pasayat, for the proposed inventory of the Ratna Bhandar of Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri, which remains closed for decades.
Puri, Mar 9: Former Supreme Court judge Justice Arijit Pasayat, who heads the high-level committee formed by the Odisha government for supervision of inventories of jewellery and other valuables stored in the ‘Ratna Bhandar’ of Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri, will arrive in the holy city of Puri on Saturday.
According to sources, Justice Pasayat will first visit the 12th century Shree Jagannath Temple at around 11 AM and pay obeisance to Lord Jagannath and his siblings.
At around 2 PM, Justice Pasayat will chair a meeting of the high-level committee to supervise the inventory of valuables stored in Ratna Bhandar (treasury) of the shrine, sources said.
Orissa High Court in September last year had directed the Odisha government to constitute a high-level committee for the supervision of the preparation of the inventory of the Ratna Bhandar.
