Jaipur, Aug 30: In a shocking incident, a district correspondent of the media organisation 'Argus', was brutally assaulted by an intoxicated youth in Jaipur.
The attacker, identified as Harikrishna Behera, allegedly attacked journalist, Sumit Ghanta, with a knife, leaving him with multiple stab wounds across various parts of his body.
According to reports, Behera was under the influence of intoxicants at the time of the assault.
While the motive behind the attack remains unclear, preliminary investigations suggest it may have stemmed from a personal dispute or a reaction to Sumit’s reporting.
Sumit Ghanta is reportedly undergoing treatment at Visakhapatnam.
A case has been registered and Harikrishna was taken into custody for further investigation into the incident.
