Balasore, Feb 24: In a bizzare incident, a jilted lover allegedly killed a 25-year-old woman by slitting her throat inside her house at Lingapada area under Soro police limits in Balasore district.

According to sources, the accused was threatening the victim over one-sided love affair for the past few days. Following the incident, the victim had also lodged an FIR at Soro police station. However, the accused broke open the woman's house and attacked the victim with a sharp weapon.

Hearing the scream, the neighbours rushed to her help and informed the police about the same. Police reached the spot and launched an investigation into the incident.

Reportedly, the accused, a resident of Basudevpur area, is absconding, and further investigation is underway.
