Jharsuguda, July 17: A young man drowned in the Bheden River while taking a selfie near the Shiva Temple in Mahadevpali in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Bikash Sahu.

✨According to reports, a seven-member staff from Axis Bank Branch here came to visit the temple. While exploring the riverbank near the temple, Bikash reportedly ventured too close to the water while taking a selfie and accidentally slipped into the river.
Despite immediate efforts to rescue him, Bikash was swept away by the strong current.
After getting information, local Police and Fire Department personnel reached the spot and launched a search operation.
The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the area and raised concerns about safety measures at popular tourist and religious sites.
