Jharsuguda, July 17: A young man drowned in the Bheden River while taking a selfie near the Shiva Temple in Mahadevpali in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Bikash Sahu.
According to reports, a seven-member staff from Axis Bank Branch here came to visit the temple. While exploring the riverbank near the temple, Bikash reportedly ventured too close to the water while taking a selfie and accidentally slipped into the river.

✨Despite immediate efforts to rescue him, Bikash was swept away by the strong current.
After getting information, local Police and Fire Department personnel reached the spot and launched a search operation.
The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the area and raised concerns about safety measures at popular tourist and religious sites.
