Jharsuguda, Dec 22: Odisha Housing and Urban Development Minister Dr Krushna Chandra Mohapatra has reviewed various development programmes of three municipalities in Jharsuguda district here, Saturday.

Odisha Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, Jharsuguda MLA Tankadhar Tripathy, District Collector Aboli Sunil Narvane and other officials from the concerned departments were present at the review meeting, which took place at the Circuit House in Jharsuguda.

Dr Mohapatra chaired the review meeting, organised by the District Urban Development Agency, over the development works of three municipalities -- Jharsuguda, Brajarajnagar and Belpahar.

The Housing and Urban Development Minister has directed the concerened department officials as well as the District Collector to work diligently to provide drinking water, roads and electricity services to the people.

"The meeting emphasised on improving basic amenities, promoting community welfare and accelerating ongoing development initiatives to improve the quality of life for residents," wrote the Minister on his official 'X' (formerly Twitter) handle.

Dr Krushna Chandra Mohapatra has said that initiatives are being taken for the master plan for the development works in all the districts.

As per the report, the attention of the Minister of Urban Development was drawn for the establishment of development authorities in the districts and effective implementation of development activities in the urban areas of the state.

In addition, the officials, present at the review meeting, also urged Dr Mohapatra to build high quality bus stands in urban areas, an auditorium in Belpahar and a planetarium in Brajarajnagar.

Jharsuguda District Collector Narvane presented the details of the development works being implemented under the three municipalities.

District Council Chief Development Officer Prabir Kumar Naik, executive officers of three municipalities, relevant departmental officers were present in the meeting.
