Jeypore, Feb 20: One died and as many as eight were injured critically after the brakes of a private school bus failed near the Mantriamba ghat near Jeypore in Koraput district today.

Thirteen staff members of the Emanuel School were travelling by their school bus to pay last respect to a peon of their school who died few hours back.  

Unfortunately, the brake of the bus failed leading to the overturning of the vehicle.

The school principal's wife Nilima Panda died in the accident with eight of the thirteen staff members were critically injured. 

The injured have been rushed to Baipariguda Community Health Centre (CHC) for treatment.
