Cuttack, Mar 21: Based on reliable information regarding the collection of huge cash as bribe from Contractors, Vigilance sleuths intercepted Bhimasen Maharana, Junior Engineer, RD Division, Jaraka, Kuakhia Section, Jajpur, on NH-16 near Tangi Toll Gate, Cuttack this evening.
The JE was proceeding from his office to his native village, Bentapurasasan under the Balianta police station limits in Khordha in his personal Hyundai i-20 Car when he was intercepted.

✨The Vigilance team found a sum of Rs.2,03,940, suspected ill-gotten cash, in his possession. As Maharana could not explain satisfactorily, the amount recovered from him along with his Hyundai i-20 car was seized, informed an official statement.
After this, searches were carried out at three locations linked to Maharana from DA angle. He is being examined to ascertain the source of funds, informed the official statement further.
