Jagannath Temple Administration Holds Key Meeting Ahead Of Rath Yatra

Puri, May 16: A crucial meeting was held at the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration Office to discuss the ongoing and upcoming repair works of Ratna Bhandar, Garbhagriha, Jagamohan, and Natamandap ahead of the annual Rath Yatra.
Presided over by the Chief Administrator of the temple, the meeting was attended by core committee members, Superintendent Archaeologists, and other officials. The senior officials also reviewed restoration plans for Ratna Bhandar and key temple structures.
During the meeting, some key decisions were taken.
Details:
- Ratna Bhandar repairs remain suspended from April 29 to June 27, as per prior decisions.
- Remaining external Ratna Bhandar repairs will be completed during this period.
- Internal Ratna Bhandar repairs will resume June 28 to July 6, post-Rath Yatra.
- Structural reinforcements include stainless steel beams and replacement of damaged stones.
- Gold plating for the inner door and silver plating for the outer door have been proposed.
- A total of 277 stones have been replaced, including 148 inside Ratna Bhandar.
The temple administration assured that further discussions will be held to finalise additional restoration measures.
