Bhubaneswar, April 13: The ‘Jaago’ movement, initiated by Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) Deemed to be University, continues to inspire and instill moral and humanistic values among its students.

Launched in 2007 on the campus of the Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), the movement has now expanded to other campuses of SOA, reflecting its impactful growth.

Members of ‘Jaago’ actively work towards empowering underprivileged children by providing free tuition, school uniforms, and bags. This initiative seeks to support slum children, focusing on education as a means to uplift their communities. Saswati Das, Vice-President of SOA, highlighted its success during a recent event organized to distribute school bags and reward winners of the ‘SOA Jaago Talent Hunt’ competition.

Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda, Vice-Chancellor of SOA, emphasized the university's commitment to societal betterment through programs like ‘Jaago.’ The gathering also featured addresses by other prominent figures, including Prof. Neeta Mohanty, Pro-Vice Chancellor, and Prof. Manjula Das, Controller of Examination.

The event’s success reinforced the importance of initiatives like ‘Jaago’ in promoting education and values, nurturing both students and the community. Prof. Anita Panda, Mentor of ‘Jaago,’ concluded the program with a heartfelt vote of thanks.
