IPS Reshuffle in Odisha: Sanjeeb Panda Posted As ADG, Anti Naxal Operations

Bhubaneswar, July 9: The Odisha government on Wednesday effected a minor reshuffle among senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, leading to key changes in pivotal positions.


According to an official notification, Sanjeeb Panda, IPS, who was serving as Additional Director General (ADG), Training and Director of Biju Patnaik State Police Academy (BPSPA), has been posted as the ADG, Anti-Naxal Operations with immediate effect.


Known for his experience in strategic operations and training reforms, Panda’s new role is expected to bolster the state’s offensive against Naxal activities.

Similarly, DIG of Police, SWR (Southern Western Range), Koraput, Akhileshvar Singh, IPS, will now serve as DIG of Police, Special Intelligence Wing (SIW), Bhubaneswar. Singh brings ground-level experience from Koraput, a region known for complex security challenges.


Meanwhile, Dr. Kanwar Vishal Singh, IPS, presently DIG of Police, SIW, Bhubaneswar, has been posted as DIG of Police, SWR, Koraput. His analytical acumen and prior field experience will be critical in addressing insurgency-linked issues in the region.


These changes reflect Odisha’s continued efforts to adapt its policing strategy to emerging challenges in internal security, intelligence gathering, and tactical preparedness.
