CII Odisha hosted 14 MPs to discuss development priorities
Focus on tourism, MSMEs, agro-industries, and logistics infrastructure
Emphasis on in-state value addition to boost jobs and revenue
New Delhi, Aug 9: In a strategic move to accelerate Odisha’s socio-economic development, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Odisha hosted an interactive session with 14 Members of Parliament from the state in New Delhi. The dialogue aimed to foster deeper collaboration between policymakers and industry leaders to unlock Odisha’s full growth potential.
The session, moderated by Sunil Gupta, Chairman of CII Odisha State Council, focused on key priorities including tourism promotion, agro-based industrial expansion, MSME support, and infrastructure development. MPs from across Odisha actively participated, offering constituency-specific insights and policy suggestions.
Discussions emphasized leveraging Odisha’s rich heritage and natural assets to boost tourism, promoting agro-industries to enhance rural incomes, and developing robust logistics infrastructure in industrial zones. A strong call was made to curb bauxite imports and iron ore exports, encouraging in-state value addition to strengthen MSMEs, generate local employment, and increase state revenue.
Gupta stated, “Odisha stands at the cusp of transformative growth. This interaction reflects our belief in a united approach where government, industry, and communities work together to unlock new opportunities and attract fresh investments.”
The session also highlighted the importance of district-wise industrial mapping to identify localized investment opportunities and drive balanced regional development. CII reaffirmed its commitment to work closely with lawmakers to promote an enabling investment climate and ensure inclusive prosperity.
The dialogue marks a significant step toward aligning industrial priorities with Odisha’s developmental aspirations, with both MPs and industry leaders agreeing on the need for coordinated efforts to achieve sustainable and inclusive growth.
