Bhubaneswar, Apr 19: In a significant development aimed at bolstering industrial security, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved the formation of a second battalion under the Odisha Industrial Security Force (OISF).

This new battalion will introduce 1,040 new positions, marking a major step in enhancing the safety and security infrastructure for industrial establishments across the state.

Currently, the Odisha Industrial Security Force operates with one active battalion comprising 1,807 personnel. With the addition of this second battalion, the total force strength will rise to 2,847, further extending its capabilities.

The decision comes in light of Odisha’s rapid industrial growth and increasing investment potential. As new industries and business hubs emerge, safeguarding strategic industrial zones has become a top priority.

CM Majhi’s approval reflects the state government’s commitment to fostering a secure environment for industrial development while addressing the dynamic needs of the sector.
