Bhubaneswar, Aug 10: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will hoist the National Flag and take the salute at the state capital, Bhubaneswar, on August 15, 2026, marking the 80th Independence Day. Alongside, the Odisha government has deputed Deputy Chief Ministers and Cabinet Ministers across fifteen districts to preside over flag-hoisting ceremonies and lead celebrations, officials said on Monday.

According to the official notification, the following assignments have been made:

  • Kalahandi – Deputy CM K.V. Singh Deo
  • Sundargarh – Deputy CM Pravati Parida
  • Cuttack – Minister Suresh Pujari
  • Angul – Minister Rabi Narayan Naik
  • Malkangiri – Minister Nityananda Gond
  • Rayagada – Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling
  • Gajapati – Minister Gokulananda Mallik
  • Koraput – Minister Sampad Chandra Swain
  • Sambalpur – Minister Krushna Chandra Patra
  • Kandhamal – Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena
  • Balangir – Minister Suryabanshi Suraj
  • Ganjam – Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan
  • Khordha – Minister Dr. Krushna Chandra Mahapatra
  • Puri – Minister Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia
  • Baleshwar – Minister Pradeep Bal Samanta

In the remaining districts, the District Collectors concerned will hoist the Tricolour.
