Due to the combined impact of these two systems, Odisha is likely to experience moderate to very heavy rainfall, especially in northern and western parts of the state. The IMD has warned of potential waterlogging, flash floods, and disruption in daily activities.
The six districts under orange alert — Sambalpur, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj — are expected to receive extremely heavy rainfall. Residents in these areas are advised to avoid low-lying regions, and follow safety instructions issued by local authorities.
Meanwhile, 19 other districts have been placed under yellow alert, indicating the possibility of heavy showers. These alerts are part of the IMD’s precautionary measures to minimize damage and ensure public safety.
