IMD Issues Red Warning For Heat Wave In Many Parts Of Odisha

India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday issued a red warning over many parts of Odisha for next two days due to the rampant heat wave conditions.

Bhubaneswar, March 15: India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday issued a red warning over many parts of Odisha for next two days due to the rampant heat wave conditions.


The IMD also issued orange and yellow warnings of heat wave conditions over several districts in the State for next four days.


The IMD’s weather forecast over Odisha for next four days is as follows:


Day 1 (Valid upto 8.30 AM on March 16)


Red Warning (Be prepared to take action)

Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at a few places with severe heat wave condition very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur and Kalahandi.


Orange Warning (Be prepared to take action)

Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at a few places over the districts of Angul, Sundargarh, Sonepur and Boudh.


Yellow Warning (Be aware)

Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Balangir, Gajapati, Cuttak and Khorda.


Day 2 (Valid from 8.30 AM on March 16 to 8.30 AM on March 17)

Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at a few places with severe heat wave condition very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur and Kalahandi.


Orange Warning (Be prepared to take action)

Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at a few places over the districts of Angul, Sundargarh, Sonepur and Boudh.


Yellow Warning (Be aware)

Day 4 (Valid from 8.30 AM on March 18 to 8.30 AM on March 19)

Yellow Warning (Be aware)

Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the district of Balangir, Kalahandi, Boudh, Sonepur, Bargarh and Nuapada.
