Bhubaneswar, May 24: The India Meteorological Department's (IMD) regional centre has issued a rainfall alert for five coastal districts of Odisha for the next three hours.

The alert has been sounded for the districts of Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Khurda, and Cuttack, including Bhubaneswar and Cuttack cities.

According to the latest forecast, the weather agency has warned of light to moderate thunderstorms, gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph, lightning, and rain within the next three hours.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to stay indoors, avoid sheltering under trees, and take necessary precautions against lightning strikes.
