Bhubaneswar, Aug 30: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall alert for Odisha, warning of intense showers across the state over the next four days.
The department has placed parts of coastal and interior Odisha under a yellow and orange warning, indicating the likelihood of heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds.
“From August 31 to September 3, Odisha will experience a significant increase in rainfall activity,” said an IMD official. “
Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Rayagada, and Koraput districts are expected to witness particularly intense downpours, said the IMD.
