Bhubaneswar, Apr 9: In a decisive move against law violations, Prithviraj Harichandan, Minister of Excise, Law and Works, Government of Odisha, has directed the Excise Superintendent to seal Bhubaneswar’s Green Field dance bar for three months.

The bar was found operating beyond permitted hours, continuing its services until 4 am under the jurisdiction of Mancheswar police station.

The minister emphasised that strong actions will be taken against dance bars found operating illegally in the city. As per the Excise Department regulations, only orchestral performances are allowed, but Green Field had reportedly been functioning in breach of these rules.

Expressing his commitment to upholding the law, Minister Harichandan assured that illegal activities in the city’s nightlife venues would be dealt with strictly. The department has reiterated its stance of supporting lawful entertainment while discouraging actions that compromise public safety and moral standards.

This crackdown showcases the government’s dedication to ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining order. The sealing of Green Field dance bar serves as a reminder to other establishments to adhere to their licenses.
