Angul, May 27: In a major crackdown, police in Rengali, Anugul district, have uncovered an illegal firearm manufacturing unit and arrested a businessman involved in the trade. Acting on special intelligence, Rengali police raided a hidden gun factory, seizing five gun barrels, a trigger mechanism, and a machine used for assembly.

The arrested individual, identified as Rajan Kisan from Beherabhui village under Arkili Panchayat, was allegedly engaged in the production of country-made firearms and selling them to poachers.

The police have intensified their investigation to uncover further links in the operation.
