Bhubaneswar, Mar 14: Continuing the crackdown on illicit liquor trade, Odisha Excise sleuths friday conducted a raid on Salia Shai in Bhubaneswar and seized a huge quantity of illegally manufactured brew.

Acting on reliable information about trade of illegal country liquor, an Excise team carried out a raid at factory in Salia Sahi area. During the raid, around 5,000 litre of pocha (fermented rice) were confiscated and destroyed.

Besides, raw material used for manufacturing country liquor were also seized.

Further revealing more details about the raid, the Excise superintendent, Debasis Patel, stated that 9 individuals including 7 men and 2 women have been arrested. A case has also been registered against the accused persons and a probe has been initiated.
