Jajpur, Apr 5: Two persons, including a husband-wife duo was killed, while their four-year-old son escaped unhurt in an accident near the old toll gate within Panikoili police limits in Odisha's Jajpur district.

The deceased were identified as Sukanta Mallick and his wife Sujata Mallick.

According to reports, Sukanta and Sujata along with their four-year-old son Krushna had gone to Maa Kali Temple in Katarapur. They were returning home when their motorbike was hit by an unidentified vehicle.

Following the incident, Sujata fell from the bike and came under the wheels of another speeding vehicle. As a result, she died on the spot.

Meanwhile, Sukanta, the husband of the deceased woman, who sustained critical injuries, was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

On being informed, police reached the spot and seized the motorcycle. Reportedly, a case has been registered and a probe is underway.
