Bhubaneswar, Nov 24: A delegation of civil society members from Odisha met the state Home Secretary in Bhubaneswar on Monday, demanding a thorough investigation into the death of popular Odia playback singer Humane Sagar, claiming that he was murdered.
They submitted a memorandum urging swift action. Discussions are scheduled to continue with the Home Secretary at 3pm.
Notably, the 36-year-old singer passed away on November 17 at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, where he had been undergoing intensive treatment.

Humane Sagar’s death has caused widespread grief across the state, where he was revered for his soulful voice and his significant contribution to the Odia music industry.
Earlier, on November 21, police registered a First Information Report (FIR) at Balangir Town Police Station against Sagar’s managers, Prashant Behera and Dinesh Behera, following complaints from several organisations demanding justice and a proper investigation into the circumstances of his death.
