Sambalpur, May 6: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Sambalpur on May 10, where he will lay the foundation stones for multiple development projects aimed at boosting infrastructure and regional growth.

His visit is expected to strengthen the BJP’s outreach in Western Odisha, with party leaders and local officials making extensive preparations.

According to reports, Shah will arrive between 2:30 pm and 3:00 pm, beginning his visit with prayers at Maa Samaleswari Temple, a revered shrine in the region.

Following the temple visit, HM Shah will attend an official event, where he will inaugurate several central government-backed projects aimed at improving connectivity, industry, and public welfare.

The visit has generated significant political and public interest, with Bargarh MLA Ashwini Sarangi stating that HM Shah’s presence will contribute to Western Odisha’s development.

Ahead of the visit, Balangir district leaders held a preparatory meeting in Khutlumunda, chaired by district BJP president Srivatsa Behera. The meeting was attended by Kantabanji MLA Laxman Bag and representatives from eight local BJP units, who discussed strategies to ensure a successful event.

The visit is expected to draw large crowds, including party workers and local residents eager to witness the announcements. Political analysts believe that Shah’s visit will further solidify BJP’s presence in Odisha, especially in the wake of recent electoral shifts.
