Cuttack, Nov 7: Elephant terror has gripped the local people residing around Banki's Bhagipur area. Multiple incidents of elephants venturing into settlements have been reported from the past few days.
Last night, a herd of 16 elephants was spotted on the streets of Cuttack's Banki near Bhagipur area. Complaints from the local residents prompted officials from the Bhagipur forest department to arrive at the spot and chase the elephants away.
After sometime, the herd of elephants returned to Chandaka sanctuary at night. Incidents like these have left the local people panic stricken. People are afraid of moving out on the roads during the evening hours.
