Helpline Number Issued For International Students Studying In Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Mar 20: To address the issue of International students studying in Odisha, the state government have taken an extensive measure as it decided to facilitate helpline number for the students.
The measure was taken following harassment of Nepali students in Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) campus. Around 1000 students studying in KIIT were issued suspension notices and asked to vacate the campus immediately following the protest after a third-year B-Tech student, named Prakriti Lamsal, was found dead in her hostel room.
To create a supportive and inclusive environment for international students studying in various colleges and universities of Odisha, a help desk has been made operational by the state government. This help desk will facilitate swift resolution of grievances, provide guidance and assistance, and help in offering international students a better academic and cultural experience, said the Chief Minister's Office.
