Heavy To Very Heavy Rainfall To Lash Several Odisha Districts Till July 26

Bhubaneswar, Jul 22: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for heavy to very heavy rainfall across Odisha due to a fresh low-pressure area forming over the north Bay of Bengal around July 24.

According to the IMD's latest update, the system is expected to intensify rainfall activity from July 23 to July 26, with gusty winds and lightning likely in several districts.

On July 22, Koraput and Malkangiri districts may witness heavy to very heavy rainfall while Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Nuapada, and Nabarangpur are also under a yellow alert.

On July 23, rainfall intensity is expected to increase, with an orange warning issued for very heavy rainfall in Cuttack and Nayagarh districts. A yellow warning for heavy rainfall has been issued for Kendrapara, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Angul, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Bhadrak, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Khordha, and Boudh districts.

Following this, residents in low-lying and flood-prone areas have been advised to remain alert. Moreover, fishermen are advised not to venture into deep sea on July 24 and 25.
