Bhubaneswar, Aug 23: The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that heavy to very heavy rain is likely to lash Odisha for the next five-seven days under the impact of a series of cyclonic circulations over the State.
A low-pressure area over north Bangladesh and neighbourhood persists over the same region. It is most likely to move westwards across West Bengal during the next 48 hours. Furthermore, another cyclonic circulation is also likely to form over the North Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood around August 24.
Under the impact of the series of cyclonic circulations, many places are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall accompanied by gusty surface wind, thunderstorms and lightning.
