Bhubaneswar, July 30: The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow warning for several parts of Odisha, as a cyclonic circulation has been active over southern Bangladesh and its nearby regions.

In anticipation of intense showers and stormy conditions, the IMD has placed 15 districts under alert for the next 24 hours. The districts include Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, and Cuttack.

Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are expected in many areas, with wind speeds predicted to reach 30 to 35 km/h. Meteorologists attribute this development to the cyclonic system influencing the upper atmospheric conditions in the region.
