Bhubaneswar, July 18: Several districts of Odisha are likely to witness heavy downpour over the next four days, said the India Meteorological Department's (IMD) regional centre.
The weather agency has also issued a yellow alert for at least 22 districts of the state today.
According to the latest blletin by the weather agency, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are expected in many areas, with wind speeds reaching 30 to 40 km/h.
Following this, residents are advised to stay indoors during peak weather hours and take necessary safety precautions, especially in regions prone to flooding or waterlogging.
Emergency teams and district administrations have been put on alert to manage any unforeseen situations.
