Koraput, Aug 7: Torrential rains continue to wreak havoc across several regions of Odisha, washing away roads, disrupting connectivity, and exposing vulnerabilities in rural and urban infrastructure.

In Gondariguda village under Pottangi block in Koraput district, heavy rainfall have completely eroded the main road. A landslide from the adjacent hill has further blocked access, leaving residents stranded.

With no immediate help from authorities, villagers have taken up shovels and pickaxes to clear debris and restore the route themselves.

The villagers have joined hands to restore connectivity, showcasing the grit and determination.

The road is a lifeline for Gondariguda, connecting it to nearby markets, schools, and healthcare facilities.

Locals have urged the district administration to take swift action and deploy machinery to stabilize the hillside and restore the road permanently.
